The Victorian Team of Zeljko Cvetnic and Tom Whitehead today won the Metallic Sight event at the 19th Pistol Australia International 1920 Match National Championships.

Victoria Wins Manton Shield!

Victoria today claimed their sixth consecutive P.A.K. Manton Shield at the Pistol Australia National Championships in Adelaide. With only one point separating Victoria and NSW before the commencement of Centre Fire it was a very tense day. The Victorian Team of Ben Hall, Wayne Davis and Bruce Quick won the centrefire event, giving Victoria its 7th Gold Medal of the Championships.

Australia Post Overturns Ban on Firearms.

Senator Helen Coonan, Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, today announced that Australia Post has lifted its ban on carriage of firearms and firearm parts in international mail.. Click here to read the full announcement. From the PA Website

Victoria Cleans Up at 1920 Nationals

Victoria today took out the Open Class Team Championship at the 2006 International 1920 Nationals, after having won the Metallic Sight class earlier in the week. Click here for full details
Vics Dominate World Championship Team
19th May 2006
AISL has announced a seven member pistol team to contest the 2006 ISSF World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia. The team is Dina Aspandiyarova, David Moore, Daniel Repacholi, Linda Ryan and Lalita Yauhleskaya. Patrick Martin amd Gary Mullens will compete in the Junior events.

Victoria Takes P.A.K. Manton Shield and
Philip Adams OAM Trophy

The Victorian Team today completed a magnificent National Championships. The Rapid Fire Team placed first, giving Victoria eight of the fourteen teams titles. Victoria won the P.A.K. Manton Shield for the aggregate of Men's and Ladies ISSF matches and completed a remarkable comeback to snatch the Philip Adams OAM Trophy from NSW.

World Cup Gold to Lalita
31st March 2006
Lalita Yauhleuskaya today won gold in the 25 metre Pistol Women at the World Cup in Guangzhou, China. Lalita won with 587/ 789.5. Dina Aspandiyarova finished 18th with 579. Daniel Repacholi also performed well with 550 in 50 Metre pistol and 578 in air pistol.

Victorian shooters Les Clark and Nathan Tait have been selected to represent Australia at the 2006 Bianchi Cup. Also in the Team are

Strong Team to Represent Victoria at the 2006 National Championships
With a mixture of seasoned veterans and enthusiastic newcomers, Victoria has announced a strong team for the 2006 nationals to be held in Wagga Wagga and Sydney. Click here for full team list.
3.4 Weight Restrictions - There shall be no restriction on
overall weight of pistols . The trigger pull shall not be less
than 2 pounds.
3.17 Ammunition -
(b) All ammunition fired in the Tournament must meet or
exceed the power floor as described when checked by
chronograph using the formula:
Bullet weight (grains) X muzzle velocity (feet per
second) = not less than 120,000
NOTE: Chronographs are mandatory in Registered
Tournaments only.

World Cup Gold Medal for Lalita.
Lalita Yauhleuskaya has won a gold medal in Air Pistol Women at the Changwon, Korea World Cup. Lalita went into the final in fourth place with 384. The leader was on 387 with two shooters tied on 386. Lalita shot a magnificent 101.2 in the final to take the Gold Medal by 1.2 points. Full results are available from the ISSF Web Site.
